The third lesson was that my marketing plan did not support the level of marketing and sales to ultimately reach my revenue goal. I had to go back and adjust my marketing plan accordingly. For example, my money plan projected that I needed to sell XX of the products but my marketing plan did not support a plan to accomplish that goal. Not S.M.A.R.T.
These were very valuable lessons and because they were presented in NUMBERS…. it was really an eye opener.
I realized that other business owners could be making the same mistakes and getting discouraged because their plans and revenue goals were not in alignment.
